Williamson walks off Brewers in the 12th as Rays win Game 4 to stay alive

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Rays are not done yet.

Ben Williamson's first hit of the World Series was a single in the bottom of the 12th inning that scored Nick Fortes and gave the Rays a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field.

Milwaukee still leads the series 3-1. Game 5 is Wednesday night in St. Petersburg.

The Rays were three outs from being swept when Cooper Pratt hit a solo home run off Ian Seymour to open the top of the 12th and put Milwaukee up 3-2.

Pratt had the game of his life. He finished 4-for-5 with a home run, a double and two runs batted in, and he drove in Milwaukee's first run of the night as well.

Tampa Bay answered in the bottom of the inning. Junior Caminero reached on a throwing error by Joey Ortiz, and Liam Hicks singled him to third. Cedric Mullins ran for Caminero, and scored the tying run on Jonny DeLuca's single up the middle.

Chandler Simpson singled to load the bases with nobody out, and Williamson, who was 0-for-7 in the Series coming in, bounced a single over the drawn-in infield on the right side to win it.

DeLuca finished 1-for-5 with the tying run batted in, and he scored Tampa Bay's first run of the game back in the second inning, when Simpson doubled him home for a 1-0 lead.

Milwaukee tied it in the fourth. Pratt doubled home Sal Frelick to make it 1-1.

The Rays went back in front in the bottom of the fourth. Caminero scored when DeLuca reached on a fielder's choice, with David Hamilton charged with a throwing error on the play.

Hamilton tied it again in the fifth, hitting a solo home run off Griffin Jax to make it 2-2, and neither team scored again until the 12th.

Dustin May started for Milwaukee and allowed two runs on three hits over three innings. The Brewers' bullpen held Tampa Bay scoreless until the 12th. Shane Drohan took the loss, charged with the winning run after facing four batters in the 12th and recording no outs.

Griffin Jax started for Tampa Bay and allowed two runs on four hits over four innings, striking out six. Nick Martinez, the Rays' Game 1 starter, threw two scoreless innings of relief. Ian Seymour picked up the win.
