EDMONTON — The Edmonton Elks have signed vice president of football operations and general manager Ed Hervey to a contract extension.

The club announced the deal on Friday. Terms were not disclosed.

Hervey is in his second season since returning to Edmonton in November 2024, and the Elks went from worst to first in the West Division this year, finishing 13-5 and earning a home playoff game for the first time since 2015. Only 18 players on the current roster were with the club before 2025.

Across six seasons in two stints running Edmonton's football operations, Hervey's teams have gone 60-48, including a 49-23 mark after his first season.

"We are incredibly fortunate to have Ed leading our football operations, and I am excited about what we will continue to build together in the years ahead," Elks president and CEO Chris Morris said in the release.

"I am grateful for this opportunity and humbled by the responsibility of leading our Football Operations Department," Hervey said in the release. "Our fans deserve a winner, and we will continue to do everything in our power to bring a championship back to Edmonton."

Hervey played his entire eight-year CFL career in Edmonton, suiting up for 188 games before moving into a scouting role in 2007. He became the club's general manager in 2013 and built the team that went 14-4 and won the 2015 Grey Cup. He later ran football operations with the BC Lions in 2018 and 2019 and in Hamilton from 2022 to 2024.

The Elks host the West Final on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Commonwealth Stadium against the winner of Saturday's West Semi-Final between Saskatchewan and BC.
