VANCOUVER — The BC Lions will be without nine players for Saturday’s Western Final.
Linebacker Darnell Sankey (hand) practised in full on Thursday and is available after being limited on Tuesday. Linebacker Adam Konar (knee) is also available after a full practice on Thursday.
Five of the nine players ruled out are defensive linemen who did not practise all week: Levi Bell (head), T.J. Burke (knee), Nathan Cherry (knee), David Gusta (head) and Matt Spatny (knee). Defensive back Patrice Rene (shoulder) is also out after missing the full week.
Receiver Seven McGee (foot) is out after being downgraded on Wednesday, while receiver Nick Cenacle (shoulder) and defensive back Jett Elad (hip) are out despite being limited in practice all week.
Three players are questionable: receiver Nate Demontagnac (hip), linebacker Parker McKenna (head) and defensive back Gary Peters (knee), who appeared on the report for the first time on Thursday as a limited participant.
The Lions visit the Edmonton Elks in the Western Final on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ABT, with a berth in the 113th Grey Cup on the line.
