Flames trim training camp roster to 27

The Calgary Flames trimmed their training camp roster to 27 players on Friday, announcing a round of assignments and waivers.

Assigned to the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers: forwards Andrew Basha, Jonathan Castagna, Will Dineen and Tyson Gross, defencemen Hunter Brzustewicz and Axel Hurtig, and goaltender Arsenii Sergeev.

Placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the Wranglers: defencemen Michael Benning, Andreas Englund and Jake Livingstone, and forwards Dryden Hunt, Ben Jones, Rory Kerins, Sam Morton and William Stromgren.

The Flames also assigned forward Chase Harrington to the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL.

Twenty-seven players remain in camp: three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 16 forwards.
