CALGARY — Vernon Adams Jr. is stacking weekly honours.

The Calgary Stampeders quarterback was named a CFL Player of the Week on Tuesday for the second consecutive week — and the third time this season — after another four-touchdown performance.

Adams went 22-of-29 for four touchdowns to four different receivers in Friday's 37-31 road win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders, including the 150th touchdown pass of his career. He added 21 yards on two carries, highlighted by a 15-yard second-down conversion, and did not take a sack.

Over the past two games, the 10-year pro has completed 78 per cent of his passes for 664 yards and seven touchdowns.

Through 15 games this season, Adams is 279-of-429 passing with a single-season career-high 34 touchdowns against five interceptions. He has also rushed 39 times for 322 yards and three scores.
