Jalen Philpot named CFL Player of the Week after career night against Ottawa

CALGARY — Jalen Philpot keeps stacking career milestones.

The Calgary Stampeders receiver was named a CFL Player of the Week on Tuesday for his starring role in the Red and White's 40-38 Week 16 win over the Ottawa Redblacks at home.

Philpot hauled in a career-high nine receptions for 118 yards, including a fourth-quarter touchdown that helped Calgary survive the shootout.

The former University of Calgary Dino has been the Stampeders' most productive receiver all season. Through 14 games, Philpot leads the team in every major receiving category with 65 catches for 915 yards and seven touchdowns.

Since Calgary selected him fifth overall in the 2022 CFL Canadian Draft, Philpot has appeared in 62 regular-season games, recording 215 catches for 2,721 yards and 16 touchdowns. He's also chipped in 51 carries for 366 yards.

Philpot becomes the fourth Stampeder to earn Player of the Week honours in 2026, joining Vernon Adams Jr. (Week 5), Dedrick Mills (Week 7) and Tyreik McAllister (Week 8). The selections are made by a panel of representatives from the CFL's football operations, player and game statistics, and content departments.
