CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders placed four players on the 2026 West Division All-CFL team, with guard Christy Nkanu, receiver Jalen Philpot, defensive end Clarence Hicks and defensive tackle Jaylon Hutchings earning the honour.
Nkanu and Philpot are first-time selections. Hicks and Hutchings are on the team for the second straight year after also earning the honour in 2025. The All-CFL teams are voted on by members of the Football Reporters of Canada, CFL head coaches and fans.
Nkanu started all 18 games and has played every game of his three-year career. Calgary averaged 5.7 yards per carry, the second-best average in the league, and rushed for 2,059 yards, third-most in the CFL. Dedrick Mills finished third in the league with 943 rushing yards despite being limited to 13 games, Deonta McMahon filled in over the final five games with two 100-yard performances and four total scores, and Vernon Adams Jr. threw a league-high 36 touchdown passes.
Philpot started all 18 games and caught 91 passes for 1,241 yards and eight touchdowns, reaching 1,000 yards in a season for the first time in his career. His eight touchdowns were five more than he had ever recorded in a single season, and he led all Stampeders pass catchers in targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns. His single-game career high of 128 receiving yards came in Week 8, a game that also included his longest career catch and longest career touchdown on a 69-yard play.
Hicks started all 18 games and registered 24 tackles, four tackles for loss, 12 sacks, three knockdowns and two forced fumbles. He won the league sack title, matching the personal season high he set last year, and led the CFL in quarterback hits (23), hurries (67) and total pressures (96) according to Pro Football Focus. His 96 pressures were 26 more than any other player in the league.
Hutchings made 17 starts at defensive tackle after being sidelined in Week 1, tallying 28 tackles, two tackles for loss and five sacks. Pro Football Focus assigned him one missed tackle in 688 defensive plays. Through 36 career regular season games, Hutchings has 69 tackles, five tackles for loss, 13 sacks, two knockdowns, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
