Stampeders add Dinos QB Jordan for rookie camp

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders are adding a local arm to camp, welcoming University of Calgary quarterback David Jordan as part of the CFL’s quarterback internship program.

Jordan, who appeared in eight games for the Dinos in 2025, will take part in both rookie camp and main training camp, giving him exposure to the professional level in a developmental setting designed for Canadian quarterbacks.

Before arriving at the University of Calgary, Jordan spent time at Florida A&M, where he was coached by former Stampeders quarterback and Canadian Football Hall of Famer Henry Burris. His path also included Birmingham High School in Los Angeles and West Los Angeles College, adding layers of experience across U.S. and Canadian programs.

The internship program has served as a recurring bridge for quarterbacks looking to make the jump, with past participants including Marshall Ferguson, Andrew Buckley, Chris Merchant and Adam Sinagra among others. The initiative gives players a chance to work within a CFL environment while continuing their development at the university level.

For Calgary, the addition reinforces a familiar pipeline. Bringing in a Dinos quarterback keeps the connection between the local U SPORTS program and the professional club active, while offering Jordan a firsthand look at the demands of a CFL roster.

The Stampeders open rookie camp on May 6, with main training camp set to begin May 10.
