Stampeders add RB Terion Stewart, release Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams

CALGARY — Calgary Stampeders made a change in the backfield Friday, signing U.S. running back Terion Stewart and releasing U.S. running back Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams.

Stewart spent the 2025 collegiate season at Virginia Tech, appearing in 10 games for the Hokies. He recorded 469 rushing yards on 82 carries, highlighted by an 85-yard run, while adding four receptions out of the backfield.

Before transferring to Virginia Tech, the Memphis, Tenn., native played five seasons at Bowling Green Falcons football. Stewart rushed for 2,306 yards and 22 touchdowns across 32 games with the Falcons and earned first-team all-MAC honours in 2024 after being named second-team all-conference the previous season.

The move comes days after Calgary opened its pre-season schedule with a home win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Lynch-Adams appeared in Monday’s exhibition game, recording seven carries for 14 yards while adding two receptions for 34 yards.
