TSN, RDS finalize coverage plans for CHL championship series
CALGARY — The Canadian Hockey League announced Wednesday that TSN and RDS will provide complete coverage of the 2026 WHL, OHL and QMJHL Championship Series as the race to the Memorial Cup reaches its final stage.
Every game of all three league finals will air nationally on TSN, while RDS will carry full French-language coverage of the QMJHL Championship Series between the Moncton Wildcats and Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
Additional streaming coverage will be available across multiple platforms. The WHL Championship Series between the Everett Silvertips and Prince Albert Raiders will stream globally for free on Victory+, while FloSports will carry the OHL and QMJHL finals.
The action opens Wednesday night with Game 1 of the OHL Championship Series between the Barrie Colts and Kitchener Rangers.
In the WHL, the Everett Silvertips are chasing the first Memorial Cup appearance in franchise history after sweeping the Penticton Vees in the Western Conference Final. Prince Albert returns to the league final for the first time since winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup in 2019 after eliminating the defending champion Medicine Hat Tigers in six games.
The series also features several top NHL prospects, including Everett defenceman Landon DuPont and Prince Albert forward Daxon Rudolph.
Peter Loubardias returns to the WHL Championship Series broadcast booth for the first time since 2017 and will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Kelly Remple and rinkside host Cami Kepke.
The OHL Championship Series marks Barrie’s first appearance in the final since 2013, while Kitchener is back for the first time since capturing the title in 2008.
Barrie rallied from a 3-1 series deficit against Brantford in the Eastern Conference Final behind standout goaltender Ben Hrebik, while Kitchener enters the championship series with a 12-2 playoff record led by Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Sam O’Reilly.
David Foot will call the OHL final alongside analyst Ryan Gardner and rinkside reporter Sophie Bernier.
In the QMJHL, defending champion Moncton faces Chicoutimi in a matchup featuring the league’s top two regular-season teams.
Moncton is attempting to become the first repeat QMJHL champion since 2012, while Chicoutimi is seeking its first Gilles-Courteau Trophy since 1994 after eliminating Rouyn-Noranda in six games.
TSN’s QMJHL broadcast crew includes Matt Cullen on play-by-play, analyst Jon Goyens and rinkside reporter Mavs Gillis. Stéphane Leroux headlines the French-language coverage on RDS.
The WHL, OHL and QMJHL champions will join host Kelowna at the 2026 Memorial Cup presented by Kubota from May 21-31.
