Stampeders bring back receiver Shawn Bane Jr.

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders have signed US receiver Shawn Bane Jr., bringing back a familiar face for the stretch run.

Bane played 13 games with the Stampeders in 2021-22, catching 24 passes for 388 yards and two touchdowns. He spent the next three seasons (2023-25) with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, appearing in 36 games and recording 146 receptions for 1,713 yards and nine touchdowns.

Earlier this year, Bane played nine games for the Paris Lights of the American Football League Europe.

The 31-year-old Northwest Missouri State product (5-foot-11, 181 pounds) will wear No. 81.

The Stampeders also released US linebacker Nakhai Hill-Green, who had been on the practice roster since Sept. 14.
