Stampeders add seven players in 2026 CFL Canadian Draft

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders added seven players during Tuesday’s 2026 CFL Canadian Draft, highlighted by the selection of linebacker Eric Rascoe sixth overall.

Rascoe, who played at Angelo State, recorded 225 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and five interceptions across five collegiate seasons. He later spent time with the San Antonio Gunslingers of the Indoor Football League after participating in the CFL Combine earlier this year.

Calgary added receiver Jesulayomi Ojutalayo from Wilfrid Laurier with the 26th overall pick before selecting defensive lineman Tristan Marois out of Colorado one pick later.

The Stampeders also selected University of Calgary receiver Matt Sibley in the fifth round after the Dinos product totaled more than 1,300 receiving yards during his collegiate career.

Offensive lineman Mitchel Schechinger of Guelph was taken in the sixth round before Calgary added defensive lineman Steven Kpehe from Queen’s in the seventh.

The Stampeders closed out their draft class by selecting Strathmore native Jack Warrack in the eighth round. Warrack spent his collegiate career at Saskatchewan and earned Canada West all-star honours in 2024.
