Stampeders select linebacker Eric Rascoe sixth overall in CFL draft
CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders selected linebacker Eric Rascoe with the sixth overall pick in Tuesday’s CFL Canadian Draft.
Rascoe spent five seasons at Angelo State, appearing in 48 games while recording 225 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, five interceptions, and 18 passes defended with the Rams.
The 24-year-old earned first-team all-Lone Star Conference honours three times and was named the conference’s co-linebacker of the year following his senior season. He also earned AP Division II All-American recognition.
Rascoe later appeared in five games for the San Antonio Gunslingers of the Indoor Football League in 2025, registering 39 tackles and one sack.
The San Antonio native recently participated in the CFL Combine in Edmonton after being added to the Canadian draft pool earlier this year through his Canadian family connection. His mother was born in Toronto, giving him National status for the CFL draft.
