Stampeders add U.S. offensive lineman Brad Ashmore

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders added experience and versatility to their offensive line Tuesday, signing former Vanderbilt tackle and guard Brad Ashmore.



Ashmore started 35 of his 39 games with the UFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks across the 2025 and 2026 seasons. He previously attended rookie minicamp with the Miami Dolphins in 2024.



The 24 year old arrives in Calgary after playing multiple positions throughout his college career at Vanderbilt. Ashmore made 37 starts in 40 games over four seasons with the Commodores, including all 12 games at right tackle as a senior captain in 2023.



He played exclusively at right guard during his junior season, finishing the year without allowing a sack and taking only three penalties. Ashmore also logged 773 snaps at right tackle as a sophomore, surrendering four sacks.



The 6 foot 5, 294 pound lineman will wear No. 63 with Calgary.



The Stampeders also released National offensive lineman Tomas Jack Kurdyla and National receiver Vyshonne Janusas.



Jack Kurdyla appeared in two games for Calgary this season and spent five more on the reserve roster. He played nine games for the Stampeders in 2025 following four seasons with Edmonton.



Janusas started Calgary’s opening two games this season before moving to the practice roster. The Stampeders selected him in the fifth round of the 2025 CFL Draft. He recorded four catches for 18 yards over 12 career appearances.
